Behavioral Health
We offer behavioral health services for current Rural Health primary care patients to help make changes that improve overall health and well-being. Many patients we treat have a physical condition affected by stress, depression, anxiety, or substance use concerns. We recognize that these conditions affect our overall health–which includes our mental, physical, and oral health. Behavioral health providers assist patients in developing goals and a plan to improve overall health and well-being.
Currently, we offer primary care behavioral health consults, individual therapy, and psychiatric medication management on a limited basis for existing Rural Health primary care patients. All our behavioral health providers work closely with patients’ primary care and dental providers to ensure that patients’ needs are being addressed in a holistic manner.
We also collaborate with community partners, including private practice clinicians and the Eastern Shore Community Services Board to meet the need for behavioral health services within our community. Onsite services are available at the Eastville Community Health Center. Telehealth services are available to patients at the Atlantic, Chincoteague, and Onley centers on a limited basis. Please talk with your Rural Health primary care provider if you are interested in receiving behavioral health care services.
