Dr. Chick graduated from the University of Kentucky Medical School and completed his residency at Edward W. Sparrow Lansing Hospital in Lansing, MI. Dr. Chick is a board certified Family Physician with over 24 years of experience in community health centers and rural medicine. He joined ESRHS in 2009. |

Ms. Schlaefer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She received her Masters in Nursing and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degrees from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. She joined ESRHS in 2004. |

Dr. James Tompkins - Pediatrician
Dr. Tompkins completed his undergraduate degree at Hampden-Syndey College and graduated from the Vanderbilt School of Medicine in Nashville, TN. His pediatric residency was served at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA. He has served in the US Navy and private practice before coming to ESRHS. Dr. Tompkins joined ESRHS in 2010. |

Ms. Morgan received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Salisbury University and received her Master of Physician Assistant Degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, Virginia. She joined ESRHS in 2003.

Ms. Caroline Stowe - Nurse Practitioner
Ms. Stowe graduated from Johns Hopkins University, Balitmore, MD and the College of Charleston. Before joining Eastern Shore Rural Health, she served as a Research Assistant at the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. Ms. Stowe's volunteer experience includes working with Medical Mission in Ankaasse, Ghana and the Ronald McDonald Children's House. She speaks both English & Spanish and enjoys traveling. Ms. Stowe joined ESRHS in 2010.

She is a Diplomate Certified in Internal Medicine from the Philippine College of Physicians, Philippines Specialty Board of Internal Medicine and completed residency training in Family Practice at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Ghent Family Practice. She joined ESRHS in 2004. |

Dr. Daniel Cochran - Family Practice
Dr. Cochran graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He comes to ESRHS after owning a private practice for 9 years, caring for patients of all ages. He, along with his wife and two daughters have been vacationing in Chincoteague for the past 14 years. His hobbies include biking, fishing & swimming. He joined ESRHS in 2010.

She received her Doctor of Medicine from the Chicago Medical School in Chicago, Illinois and completed an internship and residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the Naval Hospital in San Diego, California. She joined ESRHS in 2006.

Ms. Powell graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA. She particularly enjoys the area of women's health, but is available to serve all members of our community. She joined ESRHS in 2009 .

Ms. Erin Bender - Physician Assistant
Ms. Bender graduated from Midwestern University, Downers Grove, IL and Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA. Her interests include women's health, preventative medicine and patient education. Ms. Bender previously worked as an Emergency Department PA at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Chicago, IL and as an English Language Educator in Osaka, Japan. Ms. Bender joined ESRHS in 2010. |

Dr. Parker Dooley - Internal Medicine
Dr. Dooley is a National Health Service Corps Scholar. He recieved his Doctor of Medicine from the University of California, Davis. He completed his residency and internship from the University of California Medical Center, Sacramento. Dr. Dooley has also done research and teaching in neurophysiology. He joined ESRHS in 1993. |

Ms. Hargis completed her Masters of Science in Nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Her previous experience includes working in Emergency Departments and family practice offices. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Emergency Nurses Association. Ms. Hargis joined ESRHS in 2007. |

Dr. Moparty graduated from Osmania Medical College, India and completed her residency at West Virginia University. She comes to ESRHS from Lee Regional Hospital in Pennington Gap, Virginia. She joined ESRHS in 2009. |

Mr. Nelson Santana - Physician Assistant
Mr. Santana received his Master of Physician Assistant from Eastern Virginia Medical School after attending the State University of New York at Buffalo, Buffalo, N.Y. for undergraduate studies. He most recently worked in the Hampton, Va. area and is bilingual. Mr. Santana joined ESRHS in 2009. |

Dr. Jeremy Siegrist - Pediatrician
Dr. Siegrist received his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University and graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS) in Nofolk, VA. While at EVMS, he spent pediatric rotations with the Children's Hospital of King's Daughters. His pediatric residency was at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Las Vegas. Dr. Siegrist is a Kung Fu instructor, only one belt away from his black belt. He speaks Spanish & Italian in addition to English as his native language. Dr. Siegrist joined ESRHS in 2010. |

Dr. Vandenhoff completed his residency with the Portsmouth Family Medicine Program at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS). While there, he served as the Homeless Clinic Director. He is a graduate of the Drexel University College of Medicine, PA and the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA. Dr. Vandenhoff joined ESRHS in 2010. |

Dr. Root holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology-Sociology from Kent State University in Ohio. He received his degree in Laboratory Technology from J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College and is a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Root is also a Clinical Professor at VCU/MCV. He joined ESRHS in 2004 . |

Dr. Alexander completed his undergraduate studies at Georgetown College. He
received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the University of Louisville. Dr. Alexander is
retired from the United States Navy Corps and works part time in the school dental program. He joined ESRHS in 2005. |

Dr. Ed Griggs
Dr. Griggs received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Polytechnic University, Blacksburg, VA. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Griggs owned a private practice in Richmond for the last 20 years, before moving to the Eastern Shore. He joined ESRHS in 2008. |

Dr. Mark Sorin
Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Mark Sorin graduated from the Temple University School of Dentistry, PA and received his Pediatric Dentistry Certificate from teh Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. He served as a Naval Dentist for 21 years, stationed all over the world. Dr. Sorin is a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Virginia Dental Association and several other professional organizations. He joined ESRHS in 2008. |
